Melli Privacy Policy

This policy describes how information is handled when you use the Melli on Demand iOS app and its Live voice service.

Effective September 21, 2026No in-app call historyNo app account

1. Who operates Melli

Melli on Demand is operated by Adam Archuleta / Build with Adam AI. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@buildwithadamai.com.

2. What information is processed

  • Live conversation: With microphone permission, your speech is streamed through our voice gateway to OpenAI so Melli can respond. The service also sends Melli's audio responses back to your device. Audio and any speech-related text generated for the live exchange are processed during the call.
  • Subscription verification: Apple handles your purchase and billing. The app sends an Apple-signed transaction to our server, which checks subscription status with Apple. We use the original transaction identifier to associate your Live allowance across sessions and devices.
  • Usage and preview records: Our server stores the subscriber identifier, allowance-period dates, seconds used, and update timestamps to enforce the monthly limit. It also stores a one-way hash of a device installation identifier to prevent the one-time preview from being reused.
  • Operational information: Network connections necessarily expose technical information such as IP address to our hosting provider. Our server uses the address temporarily for connection limits. Hosting and service providers may maintain operational or security logs under their own policies.

We do not require an email address, password, or Sign in with Apple account for the app.

3. Conversations are ephemeral by default

Melli does not provide a transcript, recording library, or conversation history. Our voice gateway does not write conversation audio or transcripts to its usage database. It requests OpenAI GPT-Live sessions with storage disabled. Ending a call ends that live conversation; it cannot be reopened later in the app.

Storage disabled does not mean OpenAI retains nothing. OpenAI still processes live audio and related conversation content to provide the response. Under OpenAI's published default API policy, it may keep abuse-monitoring logs that contain some customer content for up to 30 days. OpenAI says it may keep those logs longer when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect its services or others from harm. We do not currently claim that Melli has an approved Zero Data Retention or Modified Abuse Monitoring arrangement. See OpenAI's API data-controls documentation for its current policy.

A conversation disappearing from Melli after you hang up does not delete any information OpenAI may retain under that policy. Please avoid sharing information you would not want processed by an AI provider.

4. Why we use information

  • Provide the two-way voice conversation and respond to interruptions.
  • Verify trial or paid access and restore subscription benefits.
  • Meter and enforce the 100 Live minutes available per subscription allowance period, including trial periods.
  • Prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and respond to support or privacy requests.

We do not use Melli conversations for advertising or sell personal information.

5. Service providers

OpenAI processes live voice input and generates responses. Apple provides StoreKit purchases and subscription status. Render hosts our voice gateway and its usage database. These providers receive only the information needed for their roles and handle it under their applicable terms and privacy policies. We do not give third-party advertisers access to your conversations.

6. Information on your device and your choices

The app stores a random preview identifier in the device Keychain and audio-volume preferences on the device. You can adjust the microphone permission in iOS Settings, stop a call at any time, and cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings. Revoking microphone access prevents live voice conversation.

For questions about access to or deletion of the limited records we control, contact us at hello@buildwithadamai.com. We may need information sufficient to locate and verify a subscription record. Apple controls its own purchase and billing records; requests concerning those records should be directed to Apple.

7. Retention and security

Subscription and usage records persist across calls and devices so we can enforce access and allowance limits, handle support and disputes, and meet applicable obligations. We remove or de-identify records when they are no longer needed for those purposes, subject to legal requirements. We use encrypted network connections in production and restrict access to server credentials and stored usage data. No system can guarantee absolute security.

8. Children and changes

Melli is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us. We may update this policy when the service or its data practices change; the effective date above will change when we publish an update.
